The course is online, self-paced, and follows a step-by-step learning approach. To facilitate the needs of online education, the course uses a simulator, eliminating the need for particular PCB or expensive equipment. It is dedicated to the AVR ATmega16 microcontroller and can be completed using the free simulIDE simulator or any ATmega16 board. Programs are written in the C language throughout the course. Throughout the course, students will gain knowledge about the structure of the embedded system, interrupt system, use of microcontroller peripherals, communication interfaces, human-machine interfaces, digital signal processing, and the creation of simple data acquisition systems.
